Winterfest was the week of February 2nd. Great week- students really showed their class and school spirit. Thank you to student council and Mrs. Boland for planning and organizing. Thank you to the cheerleaders and Robin Wahl and Jo Cummings for an outstanding pep rally. Congratulations to all the court- especially Queen Kari Frey and King Levi Cox.

After school elementary foreign language classes have begun at Newman Grade School.

Spanish and German were offered through Eastern Illinois University.

Congratulations to Girls Basketball team and Dave and Missy Tingly for winning 2nd straight LOVC tournament and regular season titles as well as the Regional Championship. They are playing in the Sectional Tournament Thursday at 7:30 at Tuscola against Tuscola again this year. Will hold an assembly Thursday afternoon encouraging students to support the team with an attitude of good sportsmanship. Is confident our students will be well behaved at the game.

Week of February 23rd will be FFA week. Many activities are planned throughout the week.

High School looking at PBIS for next year. (Positive Behavior Intervention System). Shiloh will be one of the first schools in the area to implement this program in the high school. Jennifer Burch will be our internal coach and will undergo training this summer.

The Paris Art Center is hosting a display of the pinhole photographs taken by the physics class. Work from Alex Dunn, Tressica Blair, Emilie Partenheimer, Victoria Wax, and Jessie Young will be displayed from mid-February until mid-March. Everyone is encouraged to drop by the Art Center and see their work.

Superintendent’s report:
Next month he will bring resolutions to the board to move money into the Tort Fund. What is in Working Cash will be moved into the Education Fund then from the Education Fund into the Building Fund.

Will also have renewal and non-renewal of employees next month. Are not talking about RIF’s right now.

Submitted financial reports to ISBE and anticipates will get Financial Recognition again this year.

Brown commented that it’s a pain to come to the front door for games and then have to go around the building to the back door. Principal Hettmansberger commented that this change resulted from not being able to find enough ticket takers for games.

Announcements and Discussion:
Fee Schedule for next school year was discussed. Superintendent Lewis reviewed possible revamping of registration fees. Will survey other schools for meal pricing. Hutchinson asked that Food Service bid specs include different pricing for the two buildings as the younger students are not given as much as older students but are charged the same amount.

Hutchinson asked what the IHSA looked at for conference tournaments. Hettmansberger said they looked at the scoreboard, locker facilities, and out of bounds, among other things. Hutchinson asked about the policy on fan buses. Hettmansberger said few students have signed up to ride the bus in the past. Hopefully this will be an issue that will have to be talked about for next Friday.

Superintendent Lewis told the Board that they hoped to hear final word in May regarding the grant that was jointly submitted with Villa Grove School District.

Means questioned if games and events in conflict with Thursday’s Sectional Tournament had been rescheduled. Superintendent Lewis said there shouldn’t be any conflicts as things had been moved up allowing enough time for the 7:30 start.

Superintendent Lewis asked the Board to consider visiting classrooms next month to see the technology improvements. They will finish up with everyone this summer.

There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 7:36 PM.
