The Tax Levy Hearing
was called to order at 6:54 PM by President Means.

There were no comments
or questions from the public regarding the 2007 Tax Levy.
Superintendent Lewis
reviewed the proposed Tax Levy noting that the tax rate will
actually go down one penny.
Young joined the
meeting at 6:55 PM.

Meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by President Means.

Board approved
the payment of bills as presented.
COMMUNICATIONS
Correspondence:
Thank you card was received from Karen Smith for the donation
in memory of her father, Roy Wax.
Chrisman
Superintendent, Norm Tracy, called to thank Superintendent Lewis
for offering our guidance counseling services after the death
of one of their students.
There were
no requests to address the Board.

Reports
- Principal
Hettmansberger
New Dismissal
Procedure for Newman Grade School: using reteaching and enrichment
activities, students will have a productive way to make use
of their time at the end of the day. Hope to begin the new procedure
at the beginning of the second semester.
Formation
of a Discipline Committee for Newman Grade School: committee
will help revamp the handbook.
Jr. Beta
Induction Ceremony was December 3: thirteen students were inducted.
Ms. Church and Mrs. Horsley do a fine job with Jr. Beta and
the organization is very active in our schools.
District
Christmas Concert was December 5: was very well attended and
the students did a very good job.
High School
Final Exams will be December 19, 20, and 21.
SmartBoards
are up and running in the new E2T2 rooms: thanked Terry and
Michael Grise for their hard work getting this done. All eight
elementary classrooms are up and running with SmartBoards.
Thank you
to Mary Kay North for providing many great meals for our tournaments.

Forty-two
families were invited to the Jr. Beta Toy Drive, which included
clothing and household items as well as toys. Twenty families,
representing sixty children participated. Jr. Beta also donated
$50.00 to Student Council for hams for their food baskets.
After attending
a Discipline Committee Meeting earlier today, commended the
staff in both buildings for excellent work. The discipline issues
here in no way compare to the issues in other districts. This
is a great school district.

Other: Superintendent
Lewis attended an ROE Meeting last week at which Roger Eddy
and Dale Righter were both present. There was much discussion
of the State budget with no good news coming from either representative.
No one seems to know what will happen.
Kile entered
the meeting at 7:28 PM.
President
Means commented that the Board needs to talk about the Superintendent’s
evaluation at the January meeting. Asked members to let the
Superintendent know if they will not be at a meeting or know
they will be late.
