I – CANVASSING OF ELECTION RESULTS AND SEATING OF NEW
MEMBERS
The meeting
was called to order at 8:00 PM by President Patchett.
Board members
present: Hutchinson, Kile, Means, Patchett, Young.
Absent:
Brown, Freebairn

Board authorized
the canvass of the election and proclaimed the results of the
April 17, 2007, General Election:
Michael Means: 560 votes Elected
Debby
Young 483 votes Elected
Dana R. Hales 463 votes Elected
Paul K. Freebairn 370 votes Elected
Freebairn
joined the meeting via conference call at 8:06 PM.
President
Patchett administered the Oath of Office to the newly elected
members.
The Shiloh
CUSD #1 Board of Education meeting of May 7, 2007 adjourned
sine die at 8:08 PM.
Superintendent
Acklin presented a plaque to retiring Board President Tom Patchett
in recognition of his six years of service (2001-2007) to the
Shiloh School District.
PART
II – ORGANIZATION OF NEW BOARD
Superintendent
Acklin appointed Hutchinson to serve as President Pro Tem and
Young to serve as Secretary Pro Tem.
President
Pro Tem Hutchinson called the meeting to order at 8:10 PM.
Board members
present: Hutchinson, Kile, Means, Hales, Young, Freebairn (present
via conference call)
Absent:
Brown

Means
was elected as President.
Hutchinson
was declared elected by acclamation as Vice President.
Young
was declared elected by acclamation as Secretary.
Board set
the Board Meeting Day and Time schedule as presented.
The following
committees and representatives were established:
Negotiations: Young, Means, Brown
Finance: Freebairn, Brown
Personnel: Hutchinson, Hales
Building/Grounds: Kile, Brown
Transportation: Freebairn, Kile
Freebairn
physically joined the meeting at 8:21 PM.
Technology: Hutchinson, Young
Policy: Kile, Hales
Education Foundation: Young, Brown
Extracurricular: Hutchinson, Means
Discipline: Means, Hales
EIASE Representative: Hales
Strategic Planning: Freebairn, Means
President
Means welcomed everyone to the meeting.
There were
no requests to address the Board.
Hutchinson
made bookmarks which will be given to all staff from the Board
of Education in recognition of Teacher Appreciation Week.
Board approved
$1,300 expenditure for the AWFS trip.
Hutchinson
announced that the IASB is requesting resolutions for the annual
delegates meeting. If any board member has an issue to submit
they need to get the paperwork filled out very soon.
Superintendent
Acklin distributed newly elected school board officials workshop
brochures.
Board entered
into Executive Session at 8:34 PM.
Board returned
to Open Session at 9:20 PM.
